Non-Surgical Medical Weight Loss Option

Maintaining a healthy weight can be challenging, especially when medical conditions are involved. Many individuals find that having some extra help getting to their ideal weight is the best way to see results.

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are medications that have science and research backing their use for physician-assisted weight loss.

We are now offering both medications at Bay Area Aesthetics to find the right solution for finally losing weight and keeping it off!

Our comprehensive weight loss program is run by Dr. John Lewis & Brianna Arghiropol, NP. This is not a “one size fits all” injectable medication. We want to partner with you so that your results and weight loss are able to be maintained. That means that your plan will be customized to your unique needs.

FAQ's

What does a personalized weight loss plan include?

We don’t focus on restrictions, or quick fixes that you won’t stick to. Instead, your plan will involve finding the right solutions for your individual needs, with:

  • Injection training

  • Medications and supplies

  • Full medical history and lab work

  • Body metrics goals

  • Physical activity goals

  • Monthly check-ins

  • Vitamin injections for an extra fee

Taking the time to understand your medical history and current activity levels helps ensure a desirable outcome that you can maintain long-term.

How long does it take for semaglutide to work?

  • Each dose of Semaglutide is given weekly, which means that you can expect a little time between injections and results being seen.

  • The medication will start working in the body within the first two weeks. Some patients start seeing results as quickly as eight weeks into their program. Most patients start seeing results around 12 weeks into treatment.

Can you take semaglutide if you are not a diabetic?

Yes, you can. Initially, Semaglutide was only for treating diabetes because one of the main roles of GLP-1 is to boost the body’s insulin production. Now, research has shown that GLP-1 in higher dosages signals a feeling of fullness to cause significant weight loss and reduce the risk of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease in overweight individuals.

How do the injections work?

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are weekly injectable medications. They work as GLP-1 receptor agonists that mimic the feeling of “fullness” or satiety.

At Bay Area Aesthetics, you will partner with a practitioner to develop a weight loss goal and we will employ you with the tools to achieve it. Under physician guidance, both options are very safe and effective in losing 15-20% of your body weight or an average of 40 pounds.

As we develop a weight loss goal together, we take into account your nutritional preferences and daily activity. Our clean, comfortable clinic focuses not only on losing those pesky pounds but also on setting you up for overall success. That means incorporating nutritional decisions, meal planning, and physical activity to keep the weight off.

Your Bay Area Aesthetics team will support your weight loss journey with monthly check-ins, personalized goals, and nutritional infusions meant to accelerate weight loss.

We are here to empower you as you make improvements. Soon enough, you will find that this personalized process helps rewire your brain when thinking about food and kickstart you to your new, healthy life.

How Semaglutide and Tirzepatide Differ

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss

Tirzepatide is a drug used under the brand Mounjaro™. Tirzepatide is both a glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and a receptor agonist (RA). That means it actually imitates two hormones the body naturally produces. Clinical trials have shown an average of 22.5% weight loss after 72 weeks of Tirzepatide.

Common side effects of Tirzepatide include nausea, diarrhea, constipation, and vomiting.

Semaglutide for Weight Loss

Semaglutide is a drug used under the brands Ozempic® and Wegovy®. Ozempic is primarily used for patients managing type 2 diabetes, although patients still see weight loss results. Wegovy patients see an average of 14.9% reduction in body weight after 68 weeks.

Common side effects of Semaglutide include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and some abdominal pain.

Both Semaglutide brands work similarly to Tirzepatide, although they act on GLP-1 receptors alone, not GIP. However, for some patients, this formula offers fewer side effects while still achieving optimal results. Your body’s response to medication depends on many factors, which means that a consultation will be the best way to discover which option is best for you.
